Bharat Taxi: Zero-Commission Cab Service to Launch from January 1

Bharat Taxi: Zero-Commission Cab Service to Launch in Delhi from January 1

In a major move that could reshape India’s cab-hailing ecosystem, the Delhi government is set to launch the Bharat Taxi app from January 1. The app will offer a strong alternative to private ride-hailing platforms such as Uber, Ola, and Rapido. Notably, this is the first time in the country that a cooperative-based cab service is being launched under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Cooperation.

As a New Year gift to Delhiites, Bharat Taxi services will begin operations in the national capital and will later be expanded across the country. The platform will provide auto, cab, and bike taxi services, with all necessary arrangements already completed in Delhi.

A Cooperative Model for Cab Services

Unlike existing private platforms, Bharat Taxi will function as a cooperative cab service, operated by Cooperative Limited. The initiative aims to empower drivers while offering affordable and transparent pricing to passengers.

Zero-Commission Model

One of the biggest highlights of the Bharat Taxi app is its zero-commission model. Under this system, drivers receive 100% of the fare earned from each ride. They are required to pay only a very nominal fee to operate on the platform, unlike private apps that deduct heavy commissions from drivers’ earnings.

From January 1, Delhi residents will be able to book autos, taxis, and bike rides through the Bharat Taxi app by simply registering with their mobile number.

Available on Android and iOS

The Bharat Taxi app will be available on both Android and iOS platforms. With no service charges or hidden commissions, the initiative is expected to provide significant relief to passengers from high cab fares.

According to the Centre, around 56,000 drivers have already registered on the Bharat Taxi platform. The government believes this cooperative, driver-friendly approach will create healthy competition in the cab-hailing market while ensuring fair earnings for drivers and affordable rides for users.

Aadhaar New Rules: Do You Know What Has Changed? How Does Face Authentication Work?

Aadhaar New Rules: Do You Know What Has Changed? How Does Face Authentication Work?

The central government has recently notified new Aadhaar rules that are set to significantly transform India’s digital identity ecosystem. Two key changes stand out—formal approval for face authentication and much stricter privacy safeguards. With these updates, Aadhaar usage is being redefined not only for government services but also for private entities, within a clear legal framework.

Why Is Face Authentication Important?

Until now, Aadhaar verification relied on fingerprints, iris scans, or OTP (One-Time Password). Under the new rules, face authentication has been officially recognized as an additional method of verification.

This is particularly useful in situations where fingerprints do not match properly or iris scans are difficult to capture. UIDAI considers face authentication as “Proof of Presence”, meaning it confirms that the Aadhaar holder is physically present at the place of verification.

This approach is similar to DigiYatra-style identity checks and has the potential to expand into everyday use cases such as event entry, hotel check-ins, and delivery confirmations.

Strong Focus on Privacy Protection

Privacy has been given top priority under the new Aadhaar rules. These changes align closely with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act.

Key privacy safeguards include:

  • The purpose of Aadhaar usage must be clearly stated

  • Explicit consent must be taken from the user

  • Only minimum required data should be collected

For example, if a service needs only age verification or a photograph, there is no requirement to share full Aadhaar details. Limited, purpose-specific information will be sufficient.

Offline Aadhaar Verification for Private Use

Earlier, some private entities collected Aadhaar details using OTP-based online access to UIDAI portals. UIDAI has now clarified that this practice is not legal.

The new rules remove this ambiguity by promoting offline Aadhaar verification. Aadhaar holders can share digitally signed Aadhaar details without any connection to UIDAI’s central database.

This can be done through:

  • QR codes

  • The new Aadhaar mobile app, which stores Aadhaar details securely on the user’s device

The app allows users to share only selected information, ensuring complete control over personal data and eliminating privacy risks.

What This Means for Users

With innovations like face authentication and offline verification, Aadhaar services are becoming more convenient, secure, and privacy-friendly. Users can now access services easily while retaining full control over how and what personal information is shared.

In short, the new Aadhaar rules aim to balance ease of use with strong data protection, marking a major step forward in India’s digital identity framework.

Have You Updated Your Aadhaar? Don’t Ignore This Important Rule

Have You Updated Your Aadhaar? Don’t Ignore This Important Rule

Aadhaar is essential for accessing government schemes, certificates, scholarships, and many other services. Even if you obtained your Aadhaar at a young age, it must be updated at specific stages. Many people are facing difficulties simply because these updates were skipped. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has clearly advised that children’s Aadhaar must be updated after 5 years of age and again before turning 15.

Aadhaar for Newborns and Young Children

Aadhaar issued to children from birth up to the age of five is known as Bal Aadhaar. It includes only the child’s photograph, name, and date of birth. At this stage, fingerprints and iris scans are not collected. The Aadhaar is issued based on the details of one of the parents.

UIDAI has stated that biometric details—fingerprints and iris—must be added once the child completes five years of age.

Mandatory Update After Five Years

If Aadhaar was issued before the child turned five, a Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) is required after five years. This is the child’s first biometric update. During this process, complete biometric data is collected for the first time.
Importantly, the Aadhaar number remains the same. According to the Aadhaar Regulations, 2016, this update is compulsory for all children.

What Happens If You Don’t Update?

If the Aadhaar is not updated after the child turns five, the Aadhaar number may be deactivated. UIDAI has specified that the biometric update must be completed within two years—ideally before the child turns seven.

Documents Required

  • First-time Aadhaar (Bal Aadhaar): Birth certificate and Aadhaar of one parent

  • Children below five years do not need to visit Aadhaar centers

  • Biometric updates (after 5 and 15 years): Child’s presence is mandatory

Currently, Aadhaar updates for children below 17 years are provided free of cost.

Bottom line: If your child has an Aadhaar, make sure the biometric updates are completed on time. A small delay today can lead to big problems later.

25 Crore People Are Actively Using It… What About You?

25 Crore People Are Actively Using It… What About You?

The government’s DigiLocker platform has seen massive adoption across the country. As of December this year, the number of registered users on the DigiLocker app has touched 60.35 crore. Out of these, nearly 25 crore users are actively accessing certificates and availing various services through the platform. However, a large number of users have installed the app but are yet to make full use of it.

DigiLocker allows citizens to store and access important government-issued documents digitally. Educational certificates, Aadhaar, driving licence, PAN card, vehicle documents, insurance papers, and several other certificates can be safely kept in one place. With this facility, there is no need to carry physical documents, making it a truly paperless and convenient system.

Launched by the Central Government in 2015, DigiLocker is designed to simplify document management. By installing the app on your mobile phone or accessing it on a laptop, you can securely store Aadhaar and other essential documents. Whenever government officials ask for identity proof or certificates, you can simply open DigiLocker and show the digital copies. Motorists, in particular, benefit greatly as driving licences, RCs, and insurance documents stored in DigiLocker are considered valid, eliminating the need to carry hard copies.

How to Use DigiLocker

  • Download and install the DigiLocker app on your mobile phone or access it via a laptop.

  • Register using your name, date of birth, and mobile number.

  • An OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked with your Aadhaar. Enter it to activate your account.

  • Once logged in, tap the search option and look for documents such as Aadhaar, driving licence, LIC bond, or educational certificates.

  • If the documents are available with the issuing authority, they will appear automatically.

  • You can view, download, and use these documents whenever required.

  • The app also allows you to add a nominee for access.

Currently, around 30 government departments are offering their services through DigiLocker, making it a one-stop solution for safe, secure, and hassle-free document storage.

Cyber Crime Alert: Beware of scams in the name of ‘Unclaimed Deposits’!

Cyber Crime Alert: Beware of scams in the name of ‘Unclaimed Deposits’!

Cybercriminals are now targeting people using a new trick — fake messages and links related to unclaimed deposits lying with banks and regulatory bodies. They are exploiting the RBI’s “Udgam” portal, which was launched to help users check and claim their unclaimed deposits.

These fraudsters send fake links and messages pretending to offer easy refunds of unclaimed amounts, luring people to click on them and share sensitive information — eventually draining their bank accounts.

Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C.V. Anand Sajjanar has issued a strong warning to citizens, urging everyone to be alert and cautious.

He advised users to:

  • Visit only the official RBI website: https://udgam.rbi.org.in

  • Ignore all messages or links claiming to be from the RBI or banks.

  • Remember that RBI never asks for OTPs, passwords, or personal details.

  • Never share such information with anyone.

  • In case of any doubt, contact your bank branch directly.

If you have fallen victim to such a scam, immediately call 1930 or file a complaint on the official portal: https://cybercrime.gov.in.

💡 Stay alert, stay safe — don’t let cybercriminals cash in on your trust!

Data Hidden Inside Diamonds! A Tech Revolution Begins

Diamond Battery: Data Hidden Inside Diamonds! A Tech Revolution Begins

Your phone is about to die… you’re running low on charge… and the stress hits: Where’s the charger? Will the plug match my phone?
But imagine this — charge once and forget about it for 28,000 years! Sounds unbelievable, right? This is exactly what a nano diamond battery promises. And here’s the twist — the same diamonds can also store your photos, videos, and data safely for thousands of years!

Diamonds, batteries, data storage — confused? Let’s break it down.

From Chandamama Stories to Modern Labs: Diamonds Are Everywhere

In old adventure tales, the hero would travel across deserts and forests to find sparkling diamonds.
Today, you just walk into a jewellery shop!

But there’s a reason diamonds never lose value.
They are super strong, extremely durable, and can survive for thousands of years.

Scientists noticed this unique strength and decided to take diamonds beyond jewellery — into advanced electronics. Using lab-grown synthetic diamonds, researchers are now creating a new generation of technology called “diamond electronics.”

A Battery That Lasts 28,000 Years? Yes!

A California-based company, NDB (Nano Diamond Battery), has created a revolutionary battery made by sealing nuclear waste inside tiny diamonds.
The best part?

Once charged, it lasts for up to 28,000 years.

No recharging. No power banks. No cables.
A true lifetime battery.

This diamond battery can be used in:

  • Smartphones

  • Laptops

  • Electric vehicles

  • Satellites & spacecraft

  • Pacemakers

  • Hearing-aid implants

  • Any device that needs a long-lasting battery

NDB says these batteries will start entering the market soon. And that's not all — scientists found another mind-blowing use for diamonds…

Data Storage Inside Diamonds — Smaller Than a Sugar Cube!

We take endless selfies, videos, and files… and fill our phones and hard disks.
But what if your hard disk falls and breaks? Your precious memories — gone.

Data centres also face similar risks. That is why researchers developed diamond data storage, the safest and most durable way to store information.

Here’s how it works:

Diamonds contain tiny defects called color centers — small spaces created naturally or by adding specific impurities. These microscopic pockets can securely hold digital data.

How powerful is diamond storage?

  • A diamond the size of a sugar cube can store 5 lakh photos

  • Data remains safe for thousands of years

  • Resistant to heat, radiation, and weather

  • Ideal for the coming age of AI and quantum computing

This could become the world’s most reliable long-term data storage technology.

Why Diamonds Became the Future of Electronics

The idea gained momentum after the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster in Japan.
The tsunami damaged nuclear reactors, forcing millions to evacuate.
Japan needed electronics that could survive extreme heat and radiation — something silicon chips could not do.

Only diamonds had:

  • Ultra-high thermal resistance

  • Ability to survive high radiation

  • Superior durability

So Japan began making lab-grown diamonds and converting them into diamond semiconductors.
Though expensive today, scientists expect costs to drop in the future.

Final Thoughts

Diamonds are no longer just symbols of luxury.
From 28,000-year batteries to millennium-long data storage and radiation-proof electronics, diamonds are powering a new technological era.

The future is truly shining bright — quite literally — with diamonds!

What is Sanchar Saathi? Everything You Need to Know!

What is Sanchar Saathi? Everything You Need to Know!

The Sanchar Saathi app, launched by the Central Government to curb cyber fraud, is now the talk of the town. Recently, the Centre’s directive making the app mandatory on new smartphones sparked curiosity and concern among users. So, what exactly does this app do? How does it help mobile users?

Block Your Phone Instantly If Lost or Stolen

Sanchar Saathi is designed to enhance mobile security and protect users from cybercrimes. Once installed, your phone number gets linked to a centralized government database that stores details of every legally purchased mobile device.

If your phone gets lost or stolen, you can file a complaint directly through the app. The system immediately blocks the device across all telecom networks, making it completely unusable—even if someone tries to replace the SIM. This ensures your data stays safe and the device becomes worthless to the thief.

Find All Mobile Numbers Registered in Your Name

Another key feature lets you check how many active mobile connections are registered under your name. This is extremely useful for detecting unauthorized SIMs issued without your knowledge. If you spot any suspicious or unknown numbers, you can raise a complaint right away.

The app also allows users to report fraudulent calls or messages directly from the call log—making fraud reporting quick and effortless.

Verify Any Mobile’s Authenticity (Useful for Used Phones)

Thinking of buying a second-hand mobile? Sanchar Saathi helps you verify whether the phone is genuine or flagged as stolen. This protects buyers from unknowingly purchasing blacklisted or illegal devices.

Available in 21 Indian Languages

The Sanchar Saathi app was officially launched earlier this year and is available on both Android and iOS. It supports 21 regional languages, including Hindi, and works with almost all telecom operators across India.

Sanchar Saathi App: Why Is It Suddenly Trending? How Does It Really Work?

Sanchar Saathi App: Why Is It Suddenly Trending? How Does It Really Work?

The government’s fraud-reporting tool Sanchar Saathi has once again come into the spotlight. After the Centre announced that the app could come pre-installed on new phones, a wave of confusion and criticism followed. Many users wondered whether the app was now mandatory.

In response, the Centre clarified that while the app may come preloaded, users can delete it if they want.
But now the big question is — how does Sanchar Saathi actually work?

How Sanchar Saathi Works

Once you install the Sanchar Saathi app, your phone’s IMEI number gets linked to the CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register).

  • IMEI is a unique 15-digit code assigned to every mobile device.

  • CEIR is a centralized government database that stores the IMEI details of all legally purchased mobiles.

If your phone gets lost or stolen, you can report it directly through the app. CEIR will instantly inform all telecom networks and block the IMEI. Even if a thief changes the SIM card, the mobile becomes completely useless.

Tampering with an IMEI number is a serious offense. Under the Telecommunications Act 2023, it can lead to:

  • Up to 3 years imprisonment

  • Fine up to ₹50 lakh

Key Features of the Sanchar Saathi App

  • Report suspicious calls & SMS instantly
You can directly file a fraud complaint from your call log.

  • Check mobile connections in your name
If any unauthorized SIMs are issued using your ID, you can report them.

  • Block lost or stolen phones
A single request will block the phone across all networks in India.

  • Verify mobile authenticity
Enter the IMEI number to check whether a phone is genuine.
    Useful for buying second-hand devices.

Impact So Far: Government Stats

Since its launch in January, Sanchar Saathi has delivered impressive results:

  • 7 lakh+ lost phones traced and recovered

  • 3.7 lakh stolen phones blocked

  • 30 million fraudulent mobile connections removed

The app is steadily becoming one of India’s most important digital security tools.

Sanchar Saathi App Row: Center Clarifies — “It Can Be Deleted”

Sanchar Saathi App Row: Center Clarifies — “It Can Be Deleted”

The Sanchar Saathi app has once again become the center of a national debate. The government recently directed mobile manufacturers to pre-install this cybersecurity app on all new smartphones sold in India. A PIB press note issued on Monday night revealed that the Centre had given companies 90 days to implement the order and submit a report within 120 days.

However, the move drew sharp criticism from the opposition, leading the Centre to soften its stance on Tuesday — clarifying that the app is not mandatory and can be deleted by users.

What Triggered the Controversy?

The initial directive stated that:

  • Sanchar Saathi must come pre-installed on every new phone.

  • The app should run automatically from the moment the phone is switched on.

  • Users should not be able to remove or disable it.

These conditions sparked immediate backlash. Opposition leaders accused the government of attempting to monitor citizens through mandatory software.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi said the move was pushing the country towards dictatorship. MP Karti Chidambaram went a step further, calling it “Pegasus PlusPlus… Big Brother taking over our phones and private lives.”

Government Responds: “Nothing Mandatory About It”

Union Ministers quickly moved to contain the criticism.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju dismissed the allegations, stating the opposition was politicizing the issue instead of allowing discussions in Parliament.

Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia clarified the government's stand:

  • The app is optional.

  • Users are free to delete it at any time.

  • Pre-installation is only for awareness and protection.

  • If not registered, the app stays inactive.

He compared Sanchar Saathi to other pre-loaded apps that come with smartphones — “If you don’t want them, you simply delete them.”

Scindia added that many citizens are unaware that a tool exists to help report fraud, track lost phones, and block misuse. Hence, the government felt it necessary to ensure the app is visible to all.

Why Sanchar Saathi?

The app, developed by the Department of Telecommunications, aims to:

  • Combat mobile-related fraud

  • Help users block or trace lost phones

  • Verify mobile connections linked to their identity

  • Report suspicious or fraudulent phone numbers

The government maintains that the intention is user safety, not surveillance.

Sanchar Saathi App: Now Pre-Installed on New Smartphones

Sanchar Saathi App: Now Pre-Installed on New Smartphones…

The Central Government has issued important new instructions to mobile manufacturers. According to a report by Reuters, all new smartphones sold in India must now come with the government’s cybersecurity app Sanchar Saathi pre-installed — and unlike regular apps, this one cannot be removed by users.

Why this move?

India has over 100 crore mobile users, and with the rapid rise of cyber fraud, mobile theft, and IMEI cloning, the government is tightening digital security.

Launched earlier this year, the Sanchar Saathi app helps users:

  • Track and block lost or stolen phones

  • Prevent IMEI spoofing

  • Strengthen cybersecurity for mobile users

So far, the app has helped the government identify more than 7 lakh stolen devices.

Mandatory by default

Reports suggest that the Ministry of Telecom has directed mobile brands to make Sanchar Saathi a default, non-deletable app on all new phones. Companies have reportedly been given a 90-day deadline to comply.

For phones already in the supply chain, manufacturers may be asked to push the app through a software update, ensuring wide adoption.

But there may be pushback…

Apple is known for not allowing pre-installation of government or third-party apps on its devices, except for its own system apps. Sources say the company has previously resisted similar directives from other governments as well.

This raises questions about whether Apple — and even Google or Samsung — will oppose or negotiate the mandate. For now, none of the major companies or the government have officially commented.

No More Network Worries! Jio Partners With BSNL for Wider Coverage

Jio Launches ICR Plans: No More Network Worries! Jio Partners With BSNL for Wider Coverage

Reliance Jio, the country’s leading telecom operator, has introduced brand-new Intra Circle Roaming (ICR) recharge plans. To make this possible, Jio has partnered with state-run telecom provider BSNL, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity even in areas where Jio’s network is weak or unavailable.

For now, these ICR plans are available only in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, but the company plans to expand them to more regions soon.

Two New Jio ICR Plans Introduced

Jio has launched two special recharge plans, both valid for 28 days:

  • ₹396 Plan

    • 10GB data

    • 1000 minutes voice calling

    • 1000 SMS

  • ₹196 Plan

    • 2GB data

    • 1000 minutes voice calling

    • 1000 SMS

These plans work exclusively on the BSNL network. That means your SIM will automatically use BSNL towers only when Jio’s signal is completely unavailable.

What Is ICR?

In many rural areas—and even in some cities—users often face network issues despite being surrounded by towers of other telecom operators. Until now, those networks were of no use if they didn't belong to your provider.

To solve this, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) introduced the Intra Circle Roaming facility in January this year. With ICR:

  • Jio, Airtel, and BSNL users can latch onto each other’s networks

  • Connectivity continues even when your operator’s tower is out of range

  • Services are enabled through towers built under the Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN) initiative

DBN, created under the Telecom Act 2023, focuses on expanding telecom access across India—ensuring good signal even in remote corners of the country.

New Instructions from the Government for WhatsApp and Telegram — Apps Will Work Only with a SIM!

SIM Binding Rule: New Instructions from the Government for WhatsApp and Telegram — Apps Will Work Only with a SIM!

The Central Government has issued key instructions to communication apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, and Arattai. As per the latest directive from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), SIM binding has now been made mandatory. This means these apps will function only if a valid SIM card is present in the device.

These new guidelines are part of the Telecommunication Cybersecurity (Amendment) Rules, 2025, and all app-based communication service providers must implement them within 90 days.

🔒 What the New SIM Binding Rule Means

According to the amendment, such apps are now classified as Telecommunication Identifier User Entities (TIUEs).

  • The app account must be linked to the SIM card in the device.

  • If the SIM card is removed or changed, the app will automatically log out.

  • When users access these apps via web browsers, they will be logged out every six hours, and re-login will require scanning a QR code from the primary device.

The main goal behind this move is to ensure that all communication services remain secure and traceable, preventing misuse or unauthorized access.

🧠 Why the Rule Was Introduced

Currently, apps like WhatsApp verify the SIM card only during installation. Even after removing or deactivating the SIM, users can continue to use the app — a loophole that has been exploited by cybercriminals abroad.

With the SIM binding rule in place, experts believe cyber fraud and impersonation cases will reduce significantly.

📱 Impact on Users

  • Users operating these apps with deactivated or removed SIM cards will lose access.

  • If you use WhatsApp Web or Telegram Web, you’ll need to re-login every six hours.

  • This system will now function similarly to UPI payment apps, which also require an active SIM for operation.

Cybersecurity analysts say this step will strengthen India’s digital communication ecosystem and make it harder for criminals to misuse messaging platforms.

Aadhaar Mobile Number Update from Home – New Feature Coming Soon!

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is getting ready to roll out a much-awaited feature for Aadhaar users. Soon, you will be able to update your Aadhaar-linked mobile number right from your home, without visiting an Aadhaar center!

UIDAI revealed on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle that this new facility will be launched shortly.

At present, users need to visit an Aadhaar enrollment or update center to change or update their registered mobile number. This process often involves long queues, especially troublesome for senior citizens and differently-abled persons.

To make things easier, UIDAI is introducing a new technology in its updated Aadhaar app. The process will use a combination of OTP verification and Aadhaar face authentication. Once this process is completed successfully, the mobile number update will be done instantly, right from your home.

UIDAI has advised users to download the latest version of the Aadhaar app to access this upcoming feature. It has also invited feedback from those who have already tested the new facility.

Now track ‘Price History’ directly in the app!

Amazon Update: Now track ‘Price History’ directly in the app!

Amazon has rolled out a brand-new feature for its users — Price History — making online shopping even smarter and more transparent.

This feature is especially useful for those who love comparing prices and waiting for the right moment to grab a deal. With Price History, users can now see how the price of a product has changed over the last 30 to 90 days, right inside the Amazon app.

Until now, shoppers had to rely on third-party websites or apps to track price variations. But Amazon has simplified the process by adding the feature directly into the product page.

Just open any product, scroll down to the pricing section, and you’ll now see the Price History option. Tap on it, and you can view a graph showing the lowest and highest prices the item has been sold for in the past 30–90 days.

Users say this feature will be especially helpful during big sales and festive offers, making it easier to decide the best time to buy.

SIM Card Misuse Alert: You’ll Be Held Responsible if Your SIM Is Misused – DoT Issues Warning

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has issued a crucial advisory to mobile users regarding the misuse of SIM cards. The department has made it clear that if your SIM card is used for cybercrime or any illegal activity, you — as the registered owner — will also be held accountable.

⚠️ DoT’s Warning on SIM Card Misuse

Many people casually give away or discard SIM cards they no longer use. However, if such a SIM ends up being used for fraudulent activities, the person in whose name it was issued will face serious legal action.

The DoT has cautioned citizens not to buy, sell, or use mobile devices with tampered IMEI numbers and to avoid SIM boxes or modems with fake IMEIs. It also warned against purchasing SIM cards using fake documents or giving away SIMs registered in your name to others.

Furthermore, the department advised people not to use mobile apps or websites that can alter the Calling Line Identity (CLI) or other telecom identifiers, as this too is considered a punishable offence.

⚖️ Strict Penalties Under the Telecommunications Act, 2023

According to the Telecommunications Act, 2023, tampering with a mobile’s IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a serious crime punishable by up to three years of imprisonment, a fine of up to ₹50 lakh, or both.

Under the Telecommunication Rules, 2024, the use of devices with altered IMEIs is completely banned.

📱 How to Check Your Device’s IMEI

To protect yourself, the DoT has urged users to verify their device’s IMEI details on the Sanchar Saathi portal or Sanchar Saathi mobile app. By entering the IMEI number, users can instantly see details like the brand, model, and manufacturer, ensuring their device is legitimate.

🛡️ DoT’s Goal: A Secure Telecom Ecosystem

The Department of Telecommunications emphasized that strict checks and digital monitoring systems are now in place to prevent misuse of telecom resources and to ensure a safe and transparent telecommunications environment for all citizens.
